Guys, I've tried a couple methods today, manual as well as the Fresh Kitchen 1054, and I'm getting stuck with both. I'd probably prefer the manual method so let's troubleshoot that...

I get through most the steps found here (and I believe I've followed them exactly, to the letter): http://androidforums.com/sprint-hero-all-things-root/162821-how-root-sprint-hero.html

But when I enter the code for #6: /data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh

    My system returns: [1] killed /data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh

It simply won't continue past that point. Ideas please?

    Thank you.

Ok, I think I've realized the error of my ways... I'm following older instructions... This phone is running 2.1 (duh). I'll report back in a while.

I will one day, lol I have been saying this for months now, Joehunni can attest to that and still have not pull the trigger, lol I guess my concern has always been when you have issues, and having to clock down the CPU, then flash kernels, add radio files and do this and do that, lol, At least I have the Rom Manager and Universal Androot 1.6.1 installed on my phone, hope that is the proper UA, lol, so getting closer, lol ;)

Well, once I followed the CORRECT tutorial for 2.1, everything went just swimmingly. Let that be a lesson to ya, kids. Read, read read... and when you've read it all, read s'more.

    Thanks all.
