How should I start off? My first name is John, and I've had my HTC EVO 3D for about a week now. I'm a reluctant new user: I've been one of those old "hold-out" people that stuck with Windows Mobile for so many years. Of course, with the introduction of Windows Phone 7, there will no longer be any hope of synching the thing to Outlook, which I've also clung to for years: if you had 300+ contacts in it, I bet you would, too.

Anyway, I'm finding Android easy enough to use: it reminds me of my old Palm Pilot ("Palm" not "Web OS") days. Very "Treo-esque" in many ways. I do miss the Today screen from the "olden" days, but with Windows 7, that too has been replaced....with tiles...

I will doubtless have lots of dumb, "newbie" questions, so please bear with me.

    Welcome to Android Forums!

I too was a WinMo user and while there is a bit of a learning curve, you can get a great deal more information on Android Home screens that Today screens ever could. If you have specific needs or questions, ask in the forum for your device and the users will get you setup.
