I have decided to start the learning of Apps and how they work, and why. bought a few books reading and reading tons of sites. If there is anyone out in the Internets willing to help a lost soul truly trying to find his way in the Android App world Due send a text.

P.S My first app will not be a FART app. Im looking to build an App truly for a Tool in my work place.

    Thanks,

    Ox

    Welcome to the Android Forums.

You'll want to hang out in the Developers Section of the forums for tips and advice from more experienced developers. Sadly, I am not one of them.

    Welcome to AndroidForums, Oxfurd!

There's lots of great sites with example, starter code out there. One that I've found invaluable is My life with Android :). There are obviously lots of other ones too, but this author really takes the time to explain and share his example code.

For technical questions, you want to visit / search Stack Overflow.

I found that its really a journey towards understanding how Android works, especially since things keep changing so fast. Reading, testing, and playing will be an invaluable experience for you, as well as getting feedback from those that use and test your apps.

I would also caution you to read this thread [WARNING] DavinciDevelopers steal apps from this forum ! - xda-developers in case you ever decide to post example .apk files and/or get an Android Developer's account to eventually publish your apps on the Android Market.

    Good luck and again, welcome!
