I've had a G1 for about a year, and I am in love with Android. I've also been programming in ActionScript 3 for about a year as a hobby, and I kept hearing that Java is pretty similar to AS3, so I thought I would try my hand at making applications for my phone.

So far I've done the Hello World tutorials, and have eclipse working perfectly with the SDK plug-in. I've also went on to youtube and found O'rielly medias' 1st android workshop video and made the flashlight program (a great way to learn the basics of activities and intents). Currently I'm in the process of modifying and taking the flash light tutorial further (trying to add menus, change screen brightness, ect.).

The hardest thing right now for me is the Java syntax. Before this week I had literally no experience in Java, but I can keep up with tutorials because of my experience with AS3 and OOP. I'd love to hear about anyone elses experience coming to java/android from the Flash world :)
