Had my Droid X for about 3 -4 weeks. I recently upgraded my battery to an extended one (bought directly from Verizon).

My phone, after being powered off, will restart. Verizon CSR said they had never heard of that and asked that I do a "soft" reset by removing the original battery for 30 seconds. I did and the problem went away for a few days.

Now, with the new battery, the phone has started restarting itself again after being powered off.

    Any clues?

    Welcome to Android Forums.

I don't know exactly why its doing that, and i have never seen it happen before but I can venture a couple of guesses. It could be that the contacts don't meet perfectly on the new battery and even the briefest interruption in power may signal the phone to boot. or it could be that the new battery is delivering varying current, enough again to cause the phone to boot.

In any case the folks in Motorola Droid X - Android Forums will have a better idea.
