Help for ematic eglide reader 2

Am I missing something? I've looked all over this site for a thread for the ematic eglide reader 2. It is a 7" touch display with Android 2.1 OS. We really need a manual for this because I can't even change the email address or download an app. It's only a few frustrations away from the trash can. Please help!

How do I root this tablet and or flash a new ROM to it? O btw I use Linux Mint 16 and I refuse to install Windows.
