Help Help in Updating Android version

Hi,

I am currently on version 2.2.1
I have the latest kies software for windows 7.
But, when I connect to the computer and look for updating the software through Kies, I see a message saying
"Your device does not support software upgrading through Kies".

I tried to check but can't find the over -the-air update option in my phone settings.

Can some please help how to get my software to the official version ?

Use ODIN, an update might not be available in your region.

Hi,

Check for Kies Update and then check for firmware update for your phone.

My Kies version is latest.
Do we install official versions using ODIN ? Is it safe to use ?
I am based in Singapore and the official version released here is 2.3.3
