this isnt the same as all the others, i rooted my phone and was able to download apps for a few minutes, after that all my apps would sit at "starting Download" i would wait hours for it to work but nothing ever changed. i paniked and reset factory settings on my phone so i only have stock apps and SU, the catch is it wont let me delete SU so my warrantee is void. also when i try to reboot recovery it looks like it will then goes black and starts normally. is there a way to remove SU or reboot recovery another way? i would be fine if the market started working again please help.
Maybe this is internal server issue, wait a few hours to a day and see if it starts working again, i had this issue
You could try flashing one of the stock ROMS. That is supposed to set the phone back to original factory settings. These directions will take you all the way back to the original V6 and then you should get the update notices to go to V8 and then VZB. http://androidforums.com/ally-all-things-root/166588-how-flash-stock-lg-rom.html
to the first comment, its been 2 days, to the second, is there an easier way it says im missing things then takes me to the lg home page
No there is no easier way to flash the official stock rom. the guide is step by step. if you follow it to a T you shouldn't have issues. but if you do. post in that thread what the problem is and such and i will get back to you.
ok i get all the way to the end then when its supposed to flash it pops up "image not found" then a screen with a bunch of question marks comes up...
the market isnt under the manage apps section. ive tried everything and nothing works, im starting to get sick of android and verizon
You say you have root and just stock apps and superuser so I am guessing you wanted to delete some default applications? Deleting talk.apk and talkprovider.apk has been known to cause the market to stop working.
Please make sure you read the instructions WORD FOR WORD, I know its long but its detailed. And if you read over 1st and then read as you attempt it also helps. It specifically says in the instructions: Your error is that you don't have the updater installed. You can get it from lg's website. http://androidforums.com/ally-all-things-root/166588-how-flash-stock-lg-rom.html
i downloaded the updater and it loaded longer then usual but after that it brought me back to the same screen, thanks for everyones help but i managed to clear my market cache so im just gonna use my warranty and say my market stoped working. the verizon im my town is leinient enough to give me a new phone
thats exactly what caused it because that was the last app i was able to delete before my market crashed, thank you
Hi there... first post, long time lurker. I know this may sound odd, but I found this on another forum. Today I reflashed Velocity .3, as I no longer wanted apps2sd, so decided to start fresh. Once flashed and logged in, my market was doing the same thing... I could browse it. Pick an app, and it would just sit there saying "Downloading..." Nothing at all would happen. What i found that worked was starting Google Talk. After coming across a post in the Droid forums, I started Talk and noted that I was not logged in. Once I did log into it, all my apps that were queued up started downloading immediately. A big relief. Try it.. you never know.
i ended up just going into verizon and saying my market wouldnt work. he tried everything that i did and nothing worked so i got a new phone for free. i rooted this one to but didnt delete g talk, everything is working fine so i think that was the problem thanks for all the help!
Well, if you were going to go that far you could just restore to stock... Really, you shouldn't be making Verizon and LG foot the bill when you mess something up like that (just my opinion)...
they will fix it and sell to someone else as pre-owned so they will not loose money since the phone is free for new customers
I've noticed with Market, regarless of the ROM being used, that much of the time I have to turn my Wifi off to get anything to download and install. Also, some things will continue to say they are installing in the notification bar, but if I look at my downloads in Market again, there will be a button to open the app. If it's really still downloading or installing, there is a cancel button instead. Odd, annoying, but at least it's doable. I really think this is an issue with Android Market and not the custom roms.
Its probably a small bug in the 2.1 OS. not to big of a deal so probably one of the smaller bugs fixed by 2.2
