Help Help me NOT return my Atrix Icon/Font Size

So here's my issue. Apparently I am blind... The screen resolution is so very high (though beautiful) makes the icons and text the size of a 3" screen.


For SMS I got Handcent and adjusted the font.

But for the home screens... I have been told that with Launcher or ADX Launcher I can address my concerns. But I could use some direction even some screen shots. Anything that can help me stay here I want.

I love the fact the finger print scanner and its enough to over come most issues but I have to be able to read the screen.

I looked in Launcher Pro, dont see it. So far ADW is the only one I know of that can do this.

I have not tried this on the atrix, but have done it on every past Android phone.

(YOU NEED TO BE ROOTED)
use root explorer and edit /system/build.prop
find:

ro.sf.lcd_density=240

Change the 240 to 260 (or something else), save the file, and reboot the phone

A Higher # will make everything BIGGER, including icons, fonts, etc

A lower # will make everything smaller

Yea you need to be rooted to do the density edit.

Try Desktop VisualizeR to make icons as big or as small as you want 'em. You can see it at work in my post here - that's using the 1x1 small, as a point of reference.

Is there any way to increase the overall font size for all the apps without rooting the phone. The current font size is really hurting the eyes...

Ok so I thought the size edit worked but apparently changing the value to anything but 240 causes the dialer in the phone to not work. ANyone have a solution?????

I have the same issue with the dialer too. I changed my setting to 280. I have ended up using RocketDialer and it works great so far.

Have anyone had any other luck?

Easy fix. Buy a Dell Streak.

Im not sure how to fix the dialer problem, as I didnt mess with the lcd density.

If you are rooted, search for Spare parts in the market. It has a font size changer, not sure if it works system wide

with ADW, UI Settings - Icons, enable new icons and then go into new icons settings, can set the icon size and font size there

This may be the best solution, but it still doesn't look right when you increase the density. It still feels like an eye strain at times (especially in certain apps)


The biggest thing that I want from ICS is hopefully a way to change a screen resolution like a PC.


Do that and this phone would be flawless!...

Well might be I am late
For MSG SMS font size you can use : PANSI SMS
it can zoom the SMS as large as you like.

I am still looking for an option to increase size of the font in all windos which come up when any icon or setting is opened.

Does this problem get solved if a 4.1 release is used?
