z4 only allows a temp root on the phone, the perm root does not work

This is AWESOME! I hear it's VERY easy to brick your phone when rooting but I want to do it BADLY! I noticed in the link you provided in step #3 that "Install the driver that you can download at the top of this post." in step 3, however, I don't see a driver up there. Can you be more specific please? What is the name of it? Also, how long did it take you to do the process?

I'm VERY savvy in tech with PC's, however, I have NEVER done anything to a phone before and some things like kernels and such are a bit foreign for me. Why can't you be my neighbor or something and come over and walk me thru it or better yet do it for me over a case of beer?! LOL

It is VERY HARD to brink your phone (You'd have to flash a bad ROM or delete something you shouldn't). Your PC should automatically install drivers. Make sure you are plugging it into the back of your PC, not the front. If you are unable to connect to transfer files, this driver might work. If you are able to transfer files than your PC already has the required drivers. Then just follow the step in the link.
