Help HELP Me with my evo

Is there a way to make my ringer stop by doing one thing rather then unlocking my phone and figuring out why its ringing and opening the message. Everytime my phone rings its such a pain, especially if I'm already talking on it. Some please help.

can anyone tell me if after the update did there screen stop responding at times i cant unlock my screen sometimes it takes hours before im able to touch the screen again i hate this problem but i want to know if its a problem i can fix before i give up my new device for a refurbish model any input i would be thankful
