OK, hello. I recently tried to root my ZTE Zmax running Android 4.4.4 but I couldn't get a permanent root. I searched online for a video and I found one which said that I had to use Butternoob to get a permanent root. I tried it and it worked but there was one problem; my data. I only noticed when I went to the shop to get something. It shows the bars but it doesn't say 4G, 3G, LTE, etc. I tried to restore my device but when I tried that, it told me 'E: No partitions selected for restoring' or something like that. So that is my problem. If someone could help me, I would really appreciate it!

Sounds very much like the attempted rooting has damaged and corrupted the baseband firmware, and why it's only showing "E", which means 2G EDGE GSM reception only. Think you'll need to re-flash the original ZTE firmware. Which you should find here with instructions. You have to register to download

That should restore it to a working state. As for getting a successful root on a Zmax, there's this XDA post with KingRoot.

But it looks very complex and no guarantees that it will worlk.
