So I rooted my droid long ago, via DMUpdater and Droidmod.org and I have found they are no longer around.

I would like to stay rooted, but now behind the curve on my next steps. DMUpdater errors as it can't find the updates from droidmod.org.

Can someone help guide me. Thanks.

Edit - I checked DMUpdater and my ROM is currently DroidMod 164(1.0)

I would recommend using RSD Lite to flash the 2.1 SBF that has SPRecovery (note that this wipes your phone clean), and from there, download ROM Manager from the Market, use it to flash ClockworkMod recovery, and use ClockworkMod to flash something like the latest UltimateDroid, Cyanogen (the nightlies are Gingerbread, 6.1 is Froyo), etc

That sounds like a good plan, though I'm not sure where I get RSD Lite or the 2.1 SBF.

    Is it on this site?

Since your already rooted, i don't see why you cant just download clockwork, flash their recovery. Then uninstall droidmod, and then reboot into recovery an wipe the dalvik cache. Then reboot again an download the newest BB, or CM or UD. Thats basically what i did along time ago. I started out on DM myself.

It may make things easier for you and it's good to support developers.

Buying the paid version of ROM Manager gives you alot more options and alot more ROMS to choose from

also before you get to uninstalling too much stuff, i would download the free version of titanium backup, an back up everything. Then uninstall everything with titanium backup that way you have a backup to most things if you need to restore something.

Wait! You don't have to uninstall your DM rom. These guys are making you go the long way around the barn. You probably should get Titanium or MyBackupPro, but you certainly don't need to use RSD Lite. You have rom manager, that is fine. Buy the license if you want to be able to download all the roms available within it. I did at first, but now I prefer to download the roms to my pc first, transfer them to my phone and use rom manager to install them. This way you get to see and read more about the rom and exactly how to install it before you try it.

Anyways, here a quick write up on how to do it:

    good luck

For some reason I thought ROM Manager wouldn't install under 2.0.1. So nevermind RSD Lite.
