After rooting the phone, It randomly shuts itself down. Why?

I used Technica's root method, installed the stock rom that the Technica method came with, installed the kernel it came with, Deodexed with the file in the technica root method, installed the live wallpapers that it came with and then installed the Moment specific WiFi Tether.

Now, What would cause the phone to keep shutting off? It doesn't even restart, it just shuts off. It's a business phone, and NEEDS to be on at all times.

Thanks in Advance for any suggestions.

the technica method mentioned is found Here.

It's actually in this forum. Root worked great, WiFi tether works great, custom recovery works great, just that it randomly shuts off. I just removed the live wallpaper function and switched to a standard wallpaper, we'll see if that makes a difference, but I can't keep having it shut down like this, I may end up just un-rooting, cause I was really only looking to root for the convenience of having an extra source of internet when in dire need.

None of the videos in that thread work plus its from May so 2.1 has gone thru several revisions on the Moment since then. Try the rooted DJ07 link I posted and if that doesn't work its probably a hardware issue. I suspect this phone was designed and assembled by drunk monkeys.

Well you say it doesn't work, but it very clearly did. Anyway, we just ended up disabling the live wallpaper feature and all seems to be doing well.

First off, you used a really old outdated method. There is newer firmware that should work better. The issue you mention shouldn't happen with just rooting. I would recommend that you flash either a stock DJ07 rom or even better, a tweaked DJ07 based rom like Ti-x (radioactive is cutting edge and may not be 100% stable). Check here for a good rom selection. Unless your recovery is ancient, you should have no problem flashing the new rom via recovery (no pc needed). It's as easy as placing the rom file in the root of the sd card, boot into recovery(install quick boot to make that easier too) and select the rom to flash. Good luck, and have fun.
