yet, when I receive a text message or call it recgognizes the name of the person and their phone number, also the names of the people are still in my call log so they're not GONE gone. It's just that when I click on contacts my list won't come up, says there's no contacts.
    Please help! Thanks a bunch.

The same thing happened to me a while ago. I ended up just rebooting the phone. That's what worked for me at least. I hope this helps.

happened to me too. even after i re-imported contacts.

go to contacts. select menu/display options. select your google contacts(ie xxx@gmail.com). check "All Other Contacts". Also, I checked "Only contacts with phones". Then click Done. After doing this, my contacts were displayed again.

Your fix for the disappearance of my contacts on the droid worked perfectly. Thanks!
