    Hi,

Hope there's someone out there who can help! My phone got wet and all the contacts and sms were on the phone not the sim. Is there any way to retrieve them? After putting phone into dessicator and low temp ovens it doesn't respond except just by vibrating when I turn it on. I have a card reader and could detect 2 sms messages that would appear to be mine - does this mean some more might be hiding on there?

    Hope someone can help!

Saving messages and contacts to the SIM is something from the 90's!

You have no chance of recovering the messages (unless you can get the phone fired up... maybe it is semi booting, check with ADB). As for the contacts, look here: http://www.google.com/contacts hopefully they'll have synced.

Was it not synced with Google?

If so, contacts should just sync back again on a new handset (SMSes are gone though).

    If not, why not?
