I have a Motorola Droid X through verizon under my bf's sisters acct. I have no control over the phone and just realized this. There is some spyware installed which takes over all my accts, messages every single aspect of having a phone. The spyware i believe is blur message watcher, geo safety net may be the manufacturer. Other names i found are core suggestions, registered to nobody@noname.com. Please help me figure out what to do and most likely i am being monitored currently as im asking for help. I dont want to do a factory data reset, is that the only option? Any help or knowledge is appreciated ..ty

Is that the only way? The only reason i didnt want to do the reset is bc i will have to have him or his family reactivate it since under his sisters acct. I wanted to try to remove it myself if possible and not let it out of my hands whatsoever until i have enough to afford my own.

You could go through the app list and uninstall every app you arent sure of. Do you know if the phone is rooted?

Yes it is. Was my bf's old phone and he had done it. I tried to and they won't uninstall. I dont know enough about this kind of thing to know exactly what is going on but it looks like this spyware or whatever it is has a dummy copy of everthing in the phone

If its rooted and the dude knew what he was doing hes probably put the apps in the system partition so a normal reset wont remove them mate.
Any idea why theyd wana spy on u lol?
What (in detail) made you worry about spyware?

Thats kinda what i thought was going on. Long story explaining why I'd think he'd be doing this but trust me, yes definitely. I first saw something about a week ago while going in to apps and killing them. I went to kill some strange program that always seems to be running called core suggestions or poll researcher, theres sometimes 4 or 5 different processes of it running and as i was closing them out i saw "blurmessagewatcherservice" as the process title of one of them. That was my red flag.

Right. U should probably check out the root forum for your particular phone and see what the guys there suggest.
    Good luck

If your phone is rooted and have titanium backup I guess you can uninstall any kind of app easy.

Want to fix if possible, not say anything and not let the phone leave my hands until im able to have enough to buy my own. Any help or knowledge is appreciated ..ty

I went ahead and merged your thread from the lounge with this one. It'll help to keep everything all in one place for people who are trying to help.

So you have a rooted motorola droid x2 that you suspect has spyware installed.

As someone mentioned above, if you download the app "titanium backup" it will allow you to be able to uninstall those apps that you normally cannot.

You open up the app, and go to the backup/restore page (thats the normal function of this app-backing up other apps), and then any app you click on you are able to uninstall.

Hopefully we can track down what application this is and get it off the phone.

The other option is to fully restore the factory OS, which would completely get rid of any non-stock software

Go to google play store and search for it you'll find it it's an app to do a lot of things you can backup your apps restore them when you need it freeze or uninstall apps even if the system app if you want to, fix force close or play store permission anyway a lot of things you can do with it, you'll find the video on YouTube about it and how it works I use it a lot. I hope it'll help you. Let me know if it helps. By the way the paid version has more future or options.

I saw this thread after entering BlurMessageWatcher in a search. Is this something that can be specifically put on my Android phone if someone say a boyfriend (or soon to be ex) wants to spy on my activities? If so, can anyone tell me how he did it? (I don't click on links, and I rarely do internet activities with my Android phone.)

    Any assistance appreciated.

Well as my knowledge or guess some kind of email or text you accept or click yes by mistake or with out known otherwise himself going through your phone and do it, such as install or accept and granted permissions for some apps otherwise I don't think there is way can do that but you can try to clean your phone by installing some spam ware apps so those apps can let's you know what and which app share your privacy or location, you might see and check which app share your privacy in setting and under device administrator also you must have to completely turn off your GPS from the setting that's the main way to track you where you are. Good luck
