Hi, after days of reading this forum i thought I'd sign up and ask as i think this might be a new one.

So my screen strop responding on my desirehd. Phoned htc and was surprised it is under warrenty, 2yrs!!! Sadly they said illegal software will void the warranty and i have it rooted with the cyogenmod on there.

So i've been trying to remove clockworkmod.

Firstly i tried the fastboot option, i get 'FAILED: remote not allowed' which apparently there is no way round without a screen.

    Secondly i tried using RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.32.405.6_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M_release_155891_signed

however this doesn't find the phone because i can't get into the phone to activate htc sync :(

Little worried i am out of options and may just have to pay to get it fixed.

    Thanks for reading...

    Hi mark....
i think you can use root uninstaller....go to android market and download root uninstaller...it will remove anything you want but let me tell you your phone will be even worst after doing it....you should ask from D-U-R-X , a guide here in this forum...i am sure he can solve your issue or please search my thread "my desire hd got freez" it is in the all things rooted section...

That would be fine except my screen isn't working so I can't use the phone apart from the physical power and volume buttons...

There's not much you can do without a screen I'm afraid, sorry :(

You could try arguing that as it's probably a hardware issue, it's not the fault of CM7 and therefore should still be covered under warranty. Where are you based?

    hmm sad times

    based in norwich, uk.

I don't think that will wash as they were very quick to mention software voids all warranty. what a pain...
