I hate my samsung sph-m900 built-in ringtones, where can i download some free ringtones for my cellphone? thanks.
My upgrade is due next month and I am so glad I found this forum. The reason, I read on another site, you cannot download or make your own ringtones with the Samsung Moment. Had I not found this forum, I was on the verge of not getting the Moment. I do have a question though. Can I download ringtones from myxer dot com? TIA
my favorite place to get ringtones is Free ringtones, themes, wallpapers, videos and games for your cell phone | Zedge they got 10s of thousands you need to download em and add em to a folder on your sd card named ringtones and then theyll be on your ringtone list on your phone.
I dont know what forum you read that on, but wow they must not know what they are doing. Just using the built in music player there is an option to "Use as ringtone". Not to mention that I have several custom ringtones. Im guessing that ya'll must be looking for ringtones other than music?
Download the Ringdroid app when you get the phone. It allows you to easily make custom ringtones using any music files you have on your micro-usb card in the phone. Pretty easy to to and its a free download.
I just found another app on the Market this evening that was awesome for ringtones... You don't have to download or edit any of your own stuff.. Just download the app, and it allows you to select from about 15 different categories of music. One of the categories is even just "sound effects". There were tons of selections in each one of the categories... Just know that you have to "go to the next page" to get to more... The app is called Mabilo Ringtones, and it had great reviews. I really love it. I downloaded R. Kelly's "Remix to Ignition" for my ringer, then a great sound effect for my texts, and then a different "techno" song for when my wife calls me (cause she loves that song). The app is really cool in that it even lets you assign the tone that you just downloaded to a contact or set it as a ringer or alert. Sooo simple to use, and it had a TON of selection... GREAT APP!
www.mytinyphone.com You can also use whatever music you have downloaded on your SD card as an ringtone!!
To be honest, what I really want is to be able to get the ringtones without installing an app. I know I could do this manually, but that'd be too easy. =) So, I'm more interested in the apps where you can download the ringtones (assign them as ringtones or notifications), and then uninstall the app if I don't want it anymore. I haven't really had a prob doing this yet, but was wondering about others' experiences with it. As this can be a useful feature for searching ringtones, or if you change them a lot, I feel like a separate app is not usually necessary for it, unless exceptionally useful.
Just wondering - I downloaded a Mario soundboard app + another nintendo sounds app (NINsomething..). I have duplicates of a couple of my ringtones now, but when I check the directories on my SDcard, there's only one in there. So, it appears to be a duplicate entry in the ringtone list. I've tried using ringdroid to delete 1 of them, but I get a force close every time. Any recommendations? I've also tried searching in the 'contents" (thru pc) of my sd card for the specific ringtones, and still no avail.
Helppppp lol...im trying to get ringtones from my own computer library of songs onto my moment....someone said theres a way without involvinf SD card storage...? any help? thanks a ton
When you plug your phone into your computer, you get an option to mount your phone as storage. When you do this, copy some mp3s over. ( I make a directory named 'Music' ) After you remove your phone from your computer, start up the android music player app, and start playing the song you want as a ringtone. Long press on the song name? And choose 'set as ringtone'. See? Very easy.
hey thanks this is helpful...i was trying to figure the way to make the ringtones smaller on my comp before i converted them to the phone...do you know of a program that works with vista that crops the mp3s into smaller files. That way i could fit alot more onto my SD card....thanks a ton!!
I don't know any specific Vista programs, I'm sure there are some out there. You could always use Ringdroid from the marketplace, it's designed to trim mp3 ringtones down to size.
ya the ringdroid works but needs the original full MP3 on the SD card...im trying to cut the file down to 30 secs or so before puttin them on the card to make it easier and save space....i just cant find a simple tool to use it...used to use sndrec on xp comp now with vista it doesnt have that so im stumped
Sorry, I don't have an easy solution for you there. Will Ringdroid let you rename song snippets so you can then remove the full song?
How do I add notification ringtones? I have added the ringtone folder to the SD card and loaded it up, and that works just fine for the regular ringer. However, the notification ringer does not tap into that same folder. Any ideas?
BUMP (I don't want to make a new thread just for this). Does anyone know how to add notification ringtones? I have added the ringtone folder to the SD card and loaded it up, and that works just fine for the regular ringer. However, the notification ringer does not tap into that same folder. Any ideas?
