the battery ran out on my Note 3 N9000

then it rebooted with the "downloading" screen and would just stay there for a long time .. pictured ..

    why/gow did this appear?

and would not charge .. going in 1 second cycles .. so i placed another battery

botted up .. but seems like all my accounts and some settings were reset ..

like i am not logged into facebook .. WhatsApp .. etc ...

and it is giving errors .. pictured ..

i did not install any new updates .. one thing i can think of WhatsApp update (new with end-to-end encryption)

    what could it be?

    why?

    how?

    please advise ..

    thank you ..

So your battery died, any time trying to boot up with old battery it boots in download mode? Then new battery and you can boot into safe mode? Have you tried booting in normal mode with battery too?
Safe Mode (like on PC) boots up with only the bare minimum running, so you can trouble shoot and find out what the problem is in normal mode so a lot of apps and settings will not run (probably reason for the errors). Is there a new app / configuration that you have recently set up / installed?

It could have been a system update gone bad. I thought that most wouldn't apply if the battery was lower than 80% but if your battery crapped out in the middle, I could see a forced factory reset happening which would explain the missing user data and the subsequent errors. I think you might have to reflash the factory firmware.

Doubt that would have made a difference, I think what @lunatic59 was talking about was a system update forcing itself on. Perhaps plug it into kies and see if there is an update, or have a look on Odin if there is firmware to reflash.
