Help Help with a few issues

Hi all,

I have picked up the phone today and although it is fast, there are a few show stoppers which are putting me off it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

1. I received an email with a code to type into a website. I couldn't find a way to cut/paste from an gmail email app into the web browser?
2. Cut and paste when you are actually in the browser seems really hard. You have to swipe your finger over the text and it copies to clipboard automatically? Is there no option to drag an area of text incase you missed a few letters out and then hit "copy"?
3. Can you not cut and paste into/from an SMS message? There doesn't appear to be an option to do this?
4. The WIFI appears to not reconnect when the phone has been in sleep mode for a while? I go into network settings and it says "Unable to connect" but I simply click the access point name and it reconnects?
5. The GPS seems flaky? One minute it works well then the next it seems to lose signal?!
6. Is there any way to import only "My contacts" from gmail contacts and not "All contacts"? With the HTC desire you could select which group of contacts you want imported?
7. Is there a way to get the gmail app to have a number above it ala iphone to indicate how many new unread messages there are?

That's all I can think of for now. If anyone has any tips they will be appreciated, but as you can see I do tend to copy/paste quite a bit with the phone and not being able to from SMS and email messages could be a show stopper
