With my week old X8, i was able to do all the things necessary for getting the most out of my droid. I rooted it, and have app2sd, xrecovery, jit, and tons of apps. Now i'm planning to upgrade the 2gb sdcard that came with it.

So how do you make the switch? After doing the same partition, how do you transfer the apps in the current sdcard to the new sdcard? Or do i have to install them all over again? I need your help. Thanks.

There are several ways of going about this.

Using your computer, and with the Xperia drivers installed, connect your device to the USB port and move the files from your old card to a special folder on your computer's hard drive.

Next, disconnect the USB cable and insert the new card into your device and format it, then reconnect the cable and move the old files onto the card.

"USB debugging" must be enabled on the device: menu > settings > applications > development > USB debugging checkbox.

The all important thing is those drivers.. search online for them for your exact device model and your computer's OS (Windows, Mac, etc).

ok I will give you a very simple way...

    1. make a xrecovery backup
    2. format & partition your new card
    3. paste the whole old sdcard into new sdcard
    4. restore via xrecovery

    done :)

just in 1 in 100th chances if the app doesnt work. run the app2sd script again. uninstall app2sd and again install it :)

I followed the instructions you posted. Although the problem now is that my phone wont boot. It freezes on the white SE logotype. I still have access to xrecovery so i tried doing a factory wipe. I rebooted and still, it freezes. What should i do to get this fixed?

    Update:
So i did everything i could to try to get it fixed. Hard resetting, formatting, then i tried mounting it on my pc using xrecovery. Why did i figure that out just now? haha. So there, after that i just used pc companion to repair the firmware. In effect, it unrooted the phone. So i really have to work on this again. But at least i managed to get it to work. XD

    Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum and I need help.I have also rooted my phone and installed floyo 1.0 ROM and its very stable and beautiful in my phone.

I am new to android as I was using nokia phones before and I now installed lots of HD Games on my X8 and now my 2gb card is full and I have now bought a new sandisk 8gb card.

my doubt is that how to create a backup of existing 2gb card with xrecovery and how to format the new card in phone and will all my aplications and games run in new card or i have to root the phone again.

    can anyone please help me

    many thanks in advance!:)
