Help Help with motorola droid plz

Hello, so verizon and motorola tech support fails .. either they want to just replace the phone or the quietly sit on the phone wanting me to hang up, lol .. anyways so this is my prob .. phone worked great i did a system restore inside the OS and i also did the restore where u hold down the power button and X and then restore it that way... ever since doing that when i plug my usb in the pc nothing is detected .. it will charge but i can not xfer and files or tether..

Welcome to the forums, xbxiii.

Be sure to enable USB debugging prior to plugging the USB cable into your computer, in menu > settings > applications > develpment > check box.

Then, once you've attached it to your computer, you'll be presented with a prompt with the "charge only" option and "move files."

Can you give us more information? Did you enable USB debugging (while the cable was not plugged in)?

What kind of computer/OS?

Are there any error messages?

We cannot see what's going on; you have to tell us.

It sounds like you need to reinstall the device drivers on your PC.

yes everything was working fine until i did the system restore.. yes i enabled debugging while the phone was unplugged, my os is win 7 and no error messages.. when i plug the phone into my computers they charge but nothing is detected .. i have not changed anything on my pc only the restore on the phone.

I'd next reinstall the device drivers on the computer. Go here:

USB and PC Charging Drivers - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA

and find the drivers for your model of Motorola Droid and your PC's operating system (Windows 7, Vista, Mac, etc).

is it possible that my cable is messed up.. maybe allowing it to charge but not be detected by the pc ? what are the chances my cable breaks the same time i reformat my phone though

Sounds more like a broken USB port than a software issue.

thats what i have finally narrowed it down to.. thanks for responding i had giving up hope... oh well 3 months and its upgrade time so i will survive.. thanks for the help
