has anyone else had their text inbox wiped out? its happened to me 3 times in the past 2 weeks. whats causing this?

I don't have my Incredible yet, but my guess would be that "Auto Erase" is on under your messaging settings. When your inbox fills up it will erase the texts. Just a suggestion.

I've heard a person say that after the messaging app force closed, all of their messages were erased. Are you using any Task Killers/Managers that may have closed Messaging?

Hasn't happened to me. My messages are safe and sound. And no, there is no auto-erase as I actually WANT this and unfortunately to no avail.

i have ATK. but i dont kill my messages/inbox. and them vanishing didnt seem to conicide with anything in particular. its hard to be aware of what exactly is going on when they vanish because i dont notice till after i open the inbox.

This is a Great Phone but this has happened too me twice also. I looked for an auto delete or something but can not fine it. Anyone know of any settings that could stop this? Not using a task killer..

It happened to me, read on here somewhere that if you have any type of AntiVirus program on your phone this could cause this, I uninstalled mine and It has not happened again!

Sounds good, hope mine stays clean. Go to the market and read some of the reviews on the antivirus app. Most of them are good but a few state force closings and deleted items. One even stated not to install on droid inc...

I have confirmed through 2 different sources Handcent and HTC that the Droid Incredible DOES NOT NEED AN ANTIVIRUS APP! I have posted about this numerous times. I was having the same exact problem as you guys, I uninstalled the Antivirus app and never had a problem since. My DInc actually runs faster now AND I HAVE PROVED that the battery last longer now that i dont have it.

The only reason I have an antivirus is because it (Lookout) backs up my data so I can restore my contacts and what not from a server rather than keeping them on my SD card, which is always in the back of the phone. Is there an app that will do that without the extras?
