Help with new provider/sim card

It's my experience when porting a number that it can take up to 72 hours the work. That's here in the US, I'm not sure if it's the same over there too. You may just need to be patient. O2 may have to wait for Giffgaff to release the number, which may be why they are unable to offer any help. Maybe check with Giffgaff?

What isn't working? You haven't explicitly said what the problem is. Is the phone not connecting at all, or is it not using your ported number? As said above, the latter can take time (even with a new SIM on the same service provider you sometimes have to wait several hours before it updates to your usual number).
