I am trying to get recovery after using rooting Gingerbread for dummies. I tried to download Android flasher but got an error. Now i am trying the adb command but cmd says <waiting for device> for a while now.

Anyone know where i go from here?

    Thanks

Welcome to AF!!! What hboot version do you have? Do you have S-OFF? You can find this information by powering your Evo off then back on while holding volume down. It look something like this:

    SUPERSONIC EVT2-3 SHIP S-ON
    HBOOT-2.02.0000
    MICROP-041f
    TOUCH PANEL-ATMEL224_16ab
    RADIO-2.15.00.09.01

The information in red is what I'd like to know.

You need the rooting 2.3.5 guide.
Looks like you got it unlocked. Do you have the correct drivers installed?

You're trying to flash a custom recovery at this point, right? I would recommend using the PC36IMG method to do this; you can find it here. After you've downloaded the file, place it onto the root directory of your sd card (topmost level and not in any folders). Now power your Evo off then back on while holding volume down to get to your bootloader screen. Your Evo will scan for the PC36IMG.zip file, and when it asks if you'd like to update, select "yes". Let your Evo do it's thing, and when asked if you'd like to reboot, choose "no"; select "recovery". Let us know what happens when you choose "recovery".

Since he is s-on he will need a certain pc36img to install via hboot. I'm not sure if that's the one you linked or not
