Help with rooting and tethering

I have a thunderbolt and would like to root for tethering purposes. I went to "all things rooted" and when i click on the "here" to go to the revoluntionary site to download the adb, i get the banner at the top, and i click download file, and get a blank webpage that says "about blank". Hoping this is a simple process.

I would like to find the help section of this forum where i can root my thunderbolt and then install a tether app other than the Verizon tethering method. about phone: baseband 1.48, build 2.1.1, pri version 1.41 android version 2.3.4. When i tried before, i received error that adb drivers where not found.
