Ok. First flash of my Evo and happens that I got a "bad" .zip file! From the CWM app I selected "Install ROM from sdcard" (I think is how it is worded). It went thru all the backup and wiping etc. but after it finished with backups, it says "Back up complete! Formatting /cache... Formatting /data... Formatting /sd-ext...

Then it says it is "installing: (the ROM).zip"... Then it says it can't open /sdcard/ (the ROM) ... Installation aborted" YIKES!

What should I select now? "-Reboot system now" or?...

first off i would not use rom manager. it is way to buggy and has been known not to wipe very well. do you have the download of the rom you want on your sd card?

go ahead and reboot the phone. read the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html. and switch your recovery to amon ra. and follow the flashing instructions as well. then download your rom and make a nandroid backup, wipe, and flash your rom.

first thing i would suggest is to start flashing your rom's manually thru recovery... i would redownload the rom, place on the root of your sd card, reboot into recovery, fully wipe and then flash rom from there...

more info can be found HERE
go to AFTER ROOTING, Section 1, Flashing Rom's...
i have found and have read that most of the time, if not always, you have better results flashing a rom on your own then using a rom manager...

Thanks guys, I will take your advise and not use ROM Mgr. Yes I do have it but I think I will not chance it again a reload another one.

Do I need to remove ROM Mgr from my phone if I use the amon ra?

    Thanks again...:)

You don't NEED to remove it to use amon ra. However if your not going to use it then trash it. I think you will find using the recovery is a much nicer way of doing things anyway. The latest amon ra takes advantages of the home buttons which is nice home moves up menu moves down back move back and search is power functions.

you don't "need" to, but i would... once your get your feet wet flashing roms thru recovery, you won't need it...
