I really don't use it, but haven't tried it.
I seemed to get an error when I needed to download a plugin, but I am on the computer.
Hopefully the thread move here will bring some more help for ya

The one built into our website here does not work reliably for most people, even when using a PC browser. As a result our channel is very quiet, unfortunately - you'd have better chance posting on the forum if you have a question.

I'd recommend downloading any of the IRC clients from the play store and connecting from there. The details are:

Server: chat.freenode.net
Channel: #AndroidForums
