Why can I not set my profile pic, it keeps say ask the administor, most stuff I try and do it says that, its getting annoying, why cant I just use the app to find info without having to worry about having permission just to set MY profile pic, or permission to simply read another post, so I can learn more about android, whoever the "Admin" is, needs to lighten up a little bit, and let people just do what they gotta do..no harm no foul..

What app are you using? And am I correct in assuming you're talking about this site?

    :)

What app are you talking about?

Have you tried a web browser? As far as I know, there is no restriction on user avatars, except the size limitations (80x80 pixels and under ... 64kilobytes?)...

But if you are using an app, perhaps it's an issue with that.

And as far as posting goes, I think if you can see a thread, you should be able to post in it (locked/closed threads are an obvious exception).

    Hope that helps. :)

    Edit:
Looking at your user page it seems you do have a profile picture. If you want something to show up for your posts, you'll need an avatar.

We place no restriction on who can have an avatar, and the forum app can be used to browse almost all of the forum. Two sections, "Private chat with staff" and "Private chat with moderators are blocked, but they aren't even visible from the app so I assume those aren't ones where you've had a problem before.

Those messages are just generic error messages built into tapatalk (and our branded app is a skinned version of tapatalk). In my experience, if I get those errors whilst loading a forum its because I couldn't connect to the forum.

I've never set any images via tapatalk, but I have heard in the past that it can be pretty spotty in that area. Like 9to5 mentioned, you'd have a much better time setting it via the website:

You can set your avatar (i.e. the one that displays with your posts) here.
And you can set your profile picture (displays only on your profile page) here.
