Finally decided I had enough with the problems with this phone went to the Verizon store and was told by the Verizon employee that the problem was not the phone but I probably had a virus from one of the apps I dl. We went around and around for a little while and I decided it was not worth wasting anymore of my time. I will just tolerate this phone for another 13 months and then will NEVER get another DROID phone of any kind.

Android Eris 6 out of 10 stars
Verizon STORE CS 3 out of 10 stars

That's fine that you feel that way about the Eris and VZW's customer service. I did too. But no two android phones are made the same. I switched to the Motorola Droid after becoming infuriated with the Eris, and I couldn't be happier with it. The dev base is HUGE and very talented. The community support is great. You just can't let one bad apple spoil it for the rest of the lineup.

thats pretty ridiculous that he would say that... you should have downloaded an antivirus app right then and there... if there was a virus then hey... he was right... but i doubt he was right and then he would have looked like a huge idiot!

  6. There are five Verizon Wireless stores in Waco, Tx ;)(assuming your user name reveals where you live, let me know if I'm wrong, but where ever you live perhaps there is more than one VW store). We keep seeing posts reporting varying results store-to-store in attempts to get a replacement or other satisfactory actions when coming in with a malfunctioning device.

    I would try another store.

Go back, and tell them to find it.

Per the Magnusson Moss Warranty Act, the burden of proof is on THEM. If they are not honoring your warranty, they have to PROVE why it is your fault, they can't just say "It's probably a virus."

And if they keep it up, ask for it in writing. Dollars to doughnuts their tone changes.

    thenestor likes this.
  11. A word to the wise: don't bring donuts to the store, they're a cop magnet. You might as well go in there and start a fist fight.
