For the back of the Droid X: Zagg Invisible Shield. Super tough, perfect for falls. You could take a weedwhacker to it and it'll protect your device. In addition, consumers complain that Zagg Invisible shields are noticeably "sticky" to the touch. This in fact makes it perfect for the back of the DX, which will enhance tactile security and minimize slippage.

For the front of the Droid X: Boxwave or Ghost Armor shield for the glass, which provides optimal clarity and anti-glare, as well minimization of fingerprints.

    Voila.

Pros: No bulky plastic snap-on cases, no silicone gloves, and an optimal balance between the rugged durability of Zagg screens and the smooth clarity of Boxwave/Ghost Armor screens.
The Droid X is left in a practically naked form, while being protected against everyday threats of scratches and moderate falls. Additionally, the DX (should) still fit in its Charging Ports, unlike with cases.

Cons: Does not provide protection against severe drops, unlike snap-on cases or silicone gloves.
The Zagg shields are notoriously difficult to apply. They're apparently best applied by "professionals" at Best Buy for a fee of $15 or so.

In my case, this is a perfect solution. I really would prefer to leave the Droid X in its naked form -- or as close to it as possible, while having some peace of mind with adequate protection.
