HERO Connecting (not) to AdHoc Network

Hi, My first Post here. I have a HTC Hero which will connect to my BT Home Hub2 Wirelessly But will not "SEE" an adhoc network set up on my Laptop (Sony). My son has an Apple iPhone and it can "SEE" the adhoc network without delay. A Desktop PC in the same room will also "SEE" the adhoc network. I think I saw an answer to this problem somewhere on this Forum but I cannot now find It.
My Hero also connects to my car via Bluetooth and works well at that. I have tried to get the Hero to "See" the adhoc network with the bluetooth "off" and with the BT Router "Off" but It will not see The Network with any of the alternatives I have tried.
Any help with solving this would be much appreciated.

I believe this is a limitation of Android, you can't see Adhoc networks unfortunately.

Your best bet would be to check out the Hero forum, they might have a workaround (it would probably involve root and/or a custom ROM): HTC Hero - Android Forums
