Hero not working after activating at Sprint

    I switched to Sprint yesterday from ATT and bought a Hero along with my dad. They activated the phones for us and than told us that it should only be 30 minutes before our phones were on but could take up to 24 hours.

    its been about 15-16 hours and was wondering if it takes everyone this long?

    i think its crazy it takes this long to turn our phones on...

    EDIT: nvm didnt notice there was a sprint hero forum.

    Raccoon City
    Go to settings. About>System Updates>Update Profile.

    I had to do that to one of my phones when my wife and I first got our Heros. Good Luck!

    If you ported your phone # from AT&T (or a land line) it might take a little while. Did you contact Sprint to ask why it is taking so long?

    I walked out of the dealer with a working phone, but I was only upgrading a current account.

    Same as LD here. I'd try the suggestions above in that order. Update profile > Call Sprint. That does seem like a long time.

    Try reboot.. take battery out for 5 min...

    It took mine 2 days, but I ported my number from a regional carrier. If you have WiFi you can still surf the web and market, start getting all your apps installed.

    did you port your numbers? that can take a while.
