I recently rooted my GSM Hero and installed a custom 2.1 ROM.

Now when I turn on my phone I cannot get past the Hero "waving android" boot screen and I can't access the recovery menu.

Have I broken my Hero and how can I fix it?

Erm..... I'm guessing "can't access..." means nothing at all happens!!!

    I cannot access the menu
    Nothing happens
I'm stuck on the bootscreen and nothing at all happens after that!

I wasn't being "sarcastic", I was being informative.

How much more information do you want from me?

    i. MY PHONE WORKED

ii. I FLASHED A NEW ROM*

iii. IT WOULDN'T BOOT PAST "HERO" SCREEN

iv. I TOOK THE BATTERY OUT

    v. I PRESSED POWER AND HOME

vi. IT WOULDN'T BOOT INTO RECOVERY MENU

I told you this information twice and twice you asked me what I'd already told you like an argumentitive child.

Maybe if I spoke in txt language and went on about Mafia Wars recruiting I'd have got a proper reply.

hahaha, English is just fine, "Would not boot into recovery" is not very descriptive, IF its not booting into recovery whats it actually doing would be usefull, is it hanging on a boot screen, do you see any images (ie a Flash rec image)... You know basic stuff that helps fault diagnosis..

Press and hold home, then same for power, it should then boot into recovery menu. If you are getting a error then try removing the battery and trying again, if still no joy then you may have a brick.

Unless you can get an ADB connection at some point (kind of a long shot, but worth a try).
