Hi all,
My name's Barry Robinson [Barry's fine ;-)] and by day I'm a mild mannered photographer. I started life [after graduating form Kingston University] as a low level C/C++ network management application's developer. I've worked on massive scalable multi server, multi threaded, multi user platform's. I was the 7th member of the Netcool Omnibus development team, and the 1st developer to work at Riversoft [both companies where bought by IBM, and the tech we developed is now part of the IBM Tivoly Network Management Suite.]
I now run my own photography business [New Street Photography: http://newstreet.photograhy] in the West Midlands providing both businesses and individuals with authentic content for social media marketing and promotions, personal portraits for actors, models, etc.
Main device: Sony Xepria Z5 Premium [Though I still have my Z3].
Smart Watch: Sony Smartwatch 3
Fav Apps: Tasker, Lux, ChompSMS, My Data Manager [cheesy title, but great app], Keep, Todoist, Safe Note Pro, Flipboard, Shouter, Wear Aware, TapTalk, DSLR Controller, Lightroom mobile, Photoshop Express [but not necessarily in that order].
Big fan of: Removing unused apps, disabling bloatware, clean UI design, clean programming, smart use of resources, practical and useful apps, user involved design initiatives!
Not a such a fan of: Gimmicks, adds, overloaded web page's, battery draining apps, apps that just replace web content, memes [read some Richard Dowkins!], pseudo science, pseudo psychology, on-line quizzes, pointless social media campaigns, the concept of being "Famous" on social media for pointless content and/or trivial gossip [it's not like anyone's going to stop you in the streets or anything...]
Have fun, and hope to have some loively, informative, and useful chats through TapTalk and the judicial use of Chrome ;-)
