hi there, have a Galaxy tab 8.9

Hi, a friend gave my daughter a Galaxy tab a few years ago for her 7th birthday and I'm trying to help her with using and upgrading it, with limited Android experience. I have a Kindle fire, but other than that I'm an iPhone/Mac person, I admit.
