Alright People,

I just got a Hero today in the UK 0n Orange...

ive never had an android before and want to get the best out of my phone without jepordising insurance, warrenty etc...

can anyone advise me oh what i should do with my phone in terms of updates etc.

people are talking about ROM updates, but i am a bit of a noob and dont really know what i should be doing...


are there settings which i should apply or things i should sign up to..

i will continue readin the forum and i have already RTFM!

Welcome to the forums...

One thing you must should do before you get too many apps loaded on your device is update your Hero to the latest ROM. This is a very easy thing to do and only takes a few minutes after you have downloaded the 100mb file. It will make your phone experience even more pleasurable as the interface will be much smoother.
The update does wipe everything of the Hero, which is why it is better to do it before you start loading it up.
Just search on Google for 'Hero orange ROM update'.

Dont install any customer rom updates. Don't root your phone. This will cancel your warranty/insurance.
