After a few hours of being unable to post I am finally free to babble endlessly! :D

My girlfriend is getting the backflip (read plenty of people dislike it but, hey its the only at&t phone with a discount..)

I am a comp sci major in college so I hope to begin programming for the android os relatively soon :D.

I am hoping to in the future get a droid based device myself. So far the HTC tattoo looks interesting.. however being in college, the backflip seems useful if for no other reason streaming all my emails straight to my phone.. Then again my parents haven't agreed to a data package yet so I'm not holding my breath.

Either way I'm glad to be here and I've seen what the iphone has done over the last few years because it had a strong developer base.. So I am hoping android will throttle past anything Iphone has done because, Development is encouraged.

Also so far I'm pretty happy with the near instantaneous response from the guys moderating these forums. Once i emailed my problem it was fixed instantaneously.

The HTC EVO 4G (available on Sprint soon) will blow the iPhone out of the water. So my suggestion is switch from ATT to Sprint.

Believe me I'm not on at&t for the ifail. I must admit sprint seems to have the best options for android phones atm... However, I'm on my parents plan.. my parents have had at&t for probably 10 years now.. and plus.. I can honestly say sprints coverage isn't what I need it to be. Once i'm out of college maybe.

    Hmmm...

What got me into Android had to have been the immense amount of personal customization that one can do with and Android powered device.

After that had to be the wide variety of apps. Granted some are a complete failure, but some are amazing.

I must admit I am dying to get one myself although it doesn't seem to be in my immediate future.

I suppose its fair to compare it to computers, if you get a dell your naturally gunna get more bloatware vs one you build yourself.

Being able to customize my android phone any way I want is like having every color imaginable to paint my nails - I pick what I want with Android..

thats why I got into it =)
