I think this is what you wanted:

"Hello all! Today I will be helping you boost your 3G speeds! This tutorial will be for Windows so please do the equal on mac/linux

You will also need a copy of adb!(Comes with one click root and shabbymod)
First please connect your phone to your computer.
On your phone enable usb debugging!
Now open a command prompt (Start->Programs->Accessories)
Navigate to your copy of adb via Cd path/to/adb
    type adb.exe shell getprop ril.MSL
now on your phone go to make call
    Dial ##3282#
Enter your MSL number you got from the command prompt.

a menu will then pop up, scroll to others, scroll to multimedia. Change the ones that say proxy address to 0.0.0.0 then exit (there's two of them ;D)
    RTSP Proxy address changes from:

    rtsp.vog.sprintpcs.com

    to:
    0.0.0.0
    and
    HTTPPD Proxy address changes from:

    pd.vog.sprintpcs.com

    to:
    0.0.0.0
Your 3g speeds will now increase significantly!
    HOPE THIS HELPS OUT!

Its easier using terminal emulator, to get the code.

    Open emulator on your prevail.
    Type:
    "su"
    "getprop ril.MSL"
    #xxxxxx
    ^^
    That will be your code..

    go to tour phone

    dial

    ##3282#

    then put you code in..

    go to Multimedia

Change numeric values to 000 and 0000

    Wham-bam-boom! lol
    Your welcome, yo.

It's supposed to increase 3g speeds if done correctly. Using the hidden menu to change any settings on the phone can be EXTREMLEY harmful to your phone's service if done incorrectly, so use at your own risk.

I'm running cm7 with katokernel and tried it. I dont think any other roms except shabbymod you can do that. I tried on every rom except cm9. I think shabby added something while building the rom. Alittle off topic but did shabby ever complete the roms after 0.9 and not have a problem with them?
