I purchased a cheap android tablet from China the other day, and when I received it, it only has about 2.3GB storage space, instead of 4GB which is supposed to be. And it is showing that 500KB used and 2.3GB free on SD card. When I asked the seller, they said the OS files are hidden and which is why it is only showing 500KB used. I'm just wandering if its true that it is possible to do such things.

    Thanks in advance

Yes, the OS files can be hidden away. I'm assuming you're using windows. If you go through your windows directory, you'll see a lot of files. But a lot of them are still hidden and you have to enable the browser to see hidden files. Same goes for Android/Linux.

    Thanks for the reply.

So, the files can be hidden. But, in system information, it is only showing 2.3GB free and 500KB used(instead of 1.7GB used, for 4GB storage). Can that information be hidden like that as well?
