Is there any way to hide a photo album in the gallery on the S4?
If you want to really hide it, place a .nomedia file in the folder.
Just save a blank text file on your pc named ".nomedia" without quotes and remove the .txt extension. Then just put that in the folder with those pictures and it will tell any app that there is no pictures in that folder.
Will that hide it in the gallery? I want it to not show up when the gallery is accessed... Like it isnt even there.
Yeah it should.
It depends quite how hidden you want it to be.
If you are trying to hide pictures of your mistress from casual browsing by your wife (I hope not) then this solution should work.
If you have something you need to hide from someone who is looking then try an app like Hide It Pro which is free and will hide things properly.
You will have to reboot after you put the .nomedia file in the folder as the pictures will still show on the gallery.
LoL... No hiding from the wife. Not even married anymore. :smokingsomb:
But if I wanna pull up my pics to show someone something, there are a couple albums that just arent for the general publics eyes... and if someone happens to look at my phone while I'm pulling up pics, they may see an album that I don't want to be seen(Cuz we have a bad ass screen! ). Make sense?
I've used an app called vaulty. Works very well for me. Just select the pictures you want hidden and it removes them from your gallery. They're only viewable from vaulty. And it's password protected.
Yeah, sounds like Hide It Pro is what you're looking for. lol.
Does anyone know how to make the Picasa/ Google+ folder not show up? The only thing in it is my Google+ profile picture, and that's annoying.
Why not just add a (.) dot in front of the album name? This should remove it from the gallery. (Something I learned from this forum, BTW)
