Hide it pro app, lost photos

I looked all over for hidden files and found nothing to find my lost docs. I tried to update the app but it failed and gave an error. A few days ago, I got my stuff back by - uninstalling Hide it Pro and then reinstalling it. I have my photos and docs back. Last problem - I paid $$ to get rid of the ads and now they are back. I don't feel like paying over and over again every time this app doesn't work after an OS update.

Hello Dear Tech Experts
1) i saved my pics in sd card and hid it using hide it pro.
2) did a factory reset to my Samsung s4 to speed up the phone.
3) i restored my data using Samsung kies 3.0, but i`m unable to find those hidden pics in either hide it pro or sd card.
4) i can see the folders in sd card but those folders are empty.
5) i have tried recuva and zar, both of them recovered my pics but once restored i`m still unable to open those since i am getting error from windows viewer that pic can`t be opened coz its damaged, corrupted or appears to be too large.

i have tried all methods mentioned in above posts but stuck at number 5.
I hope that my request from u tech expert guys wont be futile and i will get my precious pics back.

Thanking u in advance.

I would stop using this app. Any files you want to hide, just create a folder, rename the folder to anything you want and put a dot in the beginning of the name of folder. Like this for example, .my pics
Then put the stuff you want hidden into it. Then it won't show in gallery or anything.
To view stuff, just use es file explorer and select show hidden folders.

For people that used some weird app to hide stuff and lost it, you have to contact the app developer. Ask them how it hides things, and how to recover them when it malfunctions. Go to its play store listing and look for the option to contact developer.

Thank You so much for valuable reply sir but as in ES file explorer i'm trying to long press the source names as ".nomedia" same file is marked as selected file and there is no option to rename . I just want to confirm that as suggested by if i have removed the ".nomedia" as it is a source of hidden file so when we delete the source file then data will not be delete know ?????????

.nomedia is just a filename placed in a folder to let the folder be skipped by media scanner. It most likely does not contain your missing file. If your file is not in the folder below the .nomedia file (in the same folder) then it's not going to be in that folder. Check the size of .nomedia file, you will see it is tiny and won't contain any data

There seems to be little info or help with this app out there. I am dissappointed after paying for this app. It functioned fine for a year or so but after installing Marshmallow it no longer functions. It was fine after transitting to the Lollipop OS. But directly after upgrading to Marshmallow, my photos are gone and it also gives an error when tying to add New Folders.
exactly the same thing has happened to me..my s5 just updated and now none of my pictures are even in vieweing format..they have wierd names like ' `Gu1doiihamxya..' basically gibberish..i dont know what to do ..surprisingly the videos are still intact and i have moved them already, but its devastating that its not functioning anymore..also.. the es file explorer isn't bringing those out either..they dont have a normal file format anymore after updating to marshmallow..please someone help ..please please...

From the newer Marshmallow, it failed everytime I tried to update the app. So I uninstalled it, and then installed the newer version. It works but unhappy that I paid for the app but am now back to a version where ads get in the way. I messaged the developer about it and they ignored me.

For those that lost more than just pictures..let's call it "memories"..my suggestion..and I had that issue a while ago..different circumstances..equal problem..your pictures are ghosted somewhere on your external sd card..I used a company online..that recovers any type of files..and consider my sd card was even demanded..but their software was able to do a fantastic job..all you have to do is connect online from your pc..put in the pc slot your sd card, then pay and select..they even came back all stucked in the same folders as they were..the catch is..not cheap..I paid about $75..but it's sometimes priceless memories..

Can't remember which one of those were..but you all get the idea.

Hope that helps.

I've used hide it pro for years & never had an issue like this and I can't get a response to my emails sent to the app creator.

While trying to transfer files to another device, I was placing several of the albums (as the app informs) onto the SD card... what I didn't realize was the card wasn't in the device so it went into the internal memory. I can see the files names but when you click on them it leads down a dead-end road due to the fact they are "HID".

I've uninstalled & re-installed...
I need to know how to find the items & place them back into vault.
I'm not talking about porn or such, I'm talking major family events... the birth of my children, ect. Please lead me in some sort of direction to resolve this issue!!
Both devices are s3's.

i had the same problem, i asked the developers at https://audiomanager.org they replied me with a few suggestions, like upgrading the app, restarting the phones several times, uninstalling the other apps that might be causing the problem.. i did all that & i got my pictures back, i don't know how it works, but it did work, you can do that too, it might help you, from that day, i started backing up my data to google drive, so if something goes wrong i still have acces to my data.
