I have searched, and not found an answer. Is there a way to hide the toolbar/taskbar/whatever you call it bar? I am rooted, but not re-flashed. Oh, I have an Epic 4g.

Why? The toolbar is what makes Android useful. It will auto-hide when you're browsing the web or viewing pictures, but on the home screen it provides very useful pieces of information.

    Welcome to Android Forums.

I keep my notification bar hidden by using Launcher Pro, a free app from Market, which has that choice in its configuration menu.

I've moved your post to the Epic 4G All Things Root area for you. ;)

Some users want all the screen real estate they can get.

Everything in the notification bar can be placed on one of the screens, battery, clock, signal strength, etc, with free widgets.
