High Data Usage: Listening to pre-loaded mp3's?

Hi All,

I've spent the last 2 hours listening to a mix of mp3's that were either pre-loaded onto my sd card and that I've added to it myself (40-60 split) and I've noticed on 3G watchdog that my usage has shot up 40% odd!

Why has this happened when I'm listening to stuff from my sd card?

I have installed the last.fm app for what it's worth, is it doing soemthing it shouldn't be?

I've had a look in my task manager and there is nothing obvious running that shouldn't be, if that makes sense...

Any help?

When I play my music I've noticed a Last.fm message in the notification bar which says 'Now Scrobbling'. If I click on that it takes me to information about the artist which it has presumably downloaded while I was playing the track.

It hasn't really bothered me as my data plan has a high limit but I've just checked the Last.fm settings and it is possible to turn this off. Just untick 'Scrobble Android Player'.

I've unticked the scrobbling option and media player or lastfm aren't running in the background but below is a log of usage:
