High Quality, Low Price Chinese Phones? (e.g. Meizu M9)

I'm looking for a nice phone that costs less than 450USD. So far, I've found China to be the best bet, as their phones are often far cheaper.

I have no brand-loyalty, but I want something with high-quality specs, an active support community and an unbloated OS, preferably rooted.

I've been looking at the Meizu M9, but I've heard some negative things about the firmware being locked down, with Meizu bloat in the background.

Is it worthwhile for the price? Also, are there similar-priced, same-quality alternatives?

I am trying to get them to sell but unfortunately I can't get into contact with them.

There is a very long queue and tons of restrictions to even get one for yourself though.... Good luck.
