I know there have been a few threads on home replacements but I ran across one the other day (don't know if it's been mentioned here before) called LauncherPro. It is by far the fastest most stable home replacement I have ever used. It is in the market so I suggest you check it out if you are looking for something different!

    Cheers,
    Joshua

Only if you insist on the HTC widgets (like me), but if you don't care, launcherpro is smoother and faster.

Not necessarily. I am testing it right now and kind of prefer it over sense. The only thing that needs to be addressed is the customizing of the dock and getting some of the HTC widgets cloned over.

All the lag and crap I have been experiencing with 2.1 and sense have appeared to gone away but only time will tell.

I'm with you there brother. If those widgets could go on any HR, I would leave Sense and never look back. ;)...... maybe..
