home screen wiget app

new to android from apple, while watching tutorial vids on youtube one of the dudes had a cool wiget, looked like a cloud or blurry circle and when he tapped on it there were 5 apps hidden inside? i cant remember what i was watching,any idea what wiget or app he was using?

It could be an app called CircleLauncher, which has a widget like you describe. I played around with it for a while, and it does work.
