We are mostly a white state. Fine, OK, but is that our fault? If black people want to move here, I say welcome. They can live anywhere they want in SLC unlike whites that will find living in Detroit to be a rather dangerous thing.

Just because we are mostly white does not mean we are racist, it means black people do not want to be here.

Mormons. Yup, they are everywhere and that is not necessarily a bad thing. And Utah is not the only state "run" by a religious group. Every state has some group with the ability to exert political force.

You totally missed the point of my post. I wasn't calling anybody racist or saying that being a rich state is a bad thing, just that the homeless there likely have it better than the homeless in poorer communities. Don't be so sensitive lol.

He's right that the only 'class war' in the last 30 years has been the one that the rich have waged - with stunning success - against the other 99% of the population.

What else would you call it when a (very rich) presidential candidate is happy to tell his (very rich) supporters that he doesn't give a flying **** about half the population he's expecting to represent? And is perfectly happy about that.

The rich now own a greater proportion of the wealth than at any time since the robber barons, they pay less tax on their wealth than any time in (I'm guessing slightly) the last half century and, for the first time in history, know that when they lose their weath because of their reckless greed, the politicians they bought will make the poor pay them back every cent. We know that, coz that's what happened but 5 years ago. And is still happening, right now, today, in Cyprus.

The US economy is actually doing pretty well at the minute. You have reasonable growth by historic standards and Wall Street is enjoying the highest prices in history. Just try convincing people on here that things are going well. Why's that so tough? Because the rich are the principal beneficiaries.
