They're definitely the worst species on this planet.
...But seriously, they are

+1 i strongly dislike humans as well. if i ever were driving and there were a family of bunnies hoping across the street and I couldnt stop in time, and a person walking on the sidewalk id swerve and take out the person not the bunnies. odds are that person has done something wrong where as the bunnies are cute and innocent
Well then - Please feel free to come collect any and/or all of the seemingly thousands of those "cute and innocent" little bastards that routinely eat every single thing we plant in our gardens.
Just shoot em, clean em, and cook em. Perfect compliment to the food already in your garden.
one or a few humans is not a problem and is normally ok...
when they get together on a forum and compare who's has made the better choice.... is when the shit hits the fan and they all become animals.
Pretty cynical thread, this is. I love people!
I <3 Humanity
I've read an article about invasive species and I have to say that the person who wrote it clearly missed the most obvious one. (Us if you didn't already realize)
But if you've noticed, we've singlehandedly, as a species, have caused more damage to this planet in the least amount of time.
Well the biggest environmental problem by far is the exponential increase of human population. Eventually... it's going to come crashing down. More people = far more resources.
It's only a matter of time before global population control is implemented, through the law, or worse, through conspiracy type scenario's.
Well...we always have nukes :l
Nuke em until they glow then shoot em in the dark!!!
I'm gettin' a hankerin' for some of that soylent green.
Damn straight! Now with more girls!!!
That sounds oddly... fun.
We are not a terrible species if we would only think about our consequences. most do not think out side of their own mind...we crush anyone in our path to get the things we want and don't think about how it will effect others. I believe the whole human race needs to take a step back and look at itself but who am I kidding? Since the dawn of time humans have been this way...why would things change. Its a pessimistic view on things but its also a realistic way. I love everyone (I'm a modern day hippy) but it still amazes me how selfish and primitive we as a race are. This reminds me of the song"Stars" by my favorite band, switchfoot. It talks about humans looking at the stars and trying to have a conversation with the heavens while the second verse has the stars looking down on humans and realizing the pain we cause each other. Its an amazing song. Could be a little harder for some of you non rock folks
Playing the devils advocate for a minute.
I hate how 'scientist' talk about the 'harm' we are doing to the earth..
According to darwins law, you evolve or die.
If animals do not evolve, they deserve death.
therefore why should we care about inferior species we are wiping out like it is no one else's business? its happening naturally.
With that said.. I don't am not the biggest fan of humans.. I mean, we are a pretty sad species...
I wouldn't worry about it too much.. there is one thing we are good at as a species.. Killing things.
Also.. in light of recent events.. I propose we totally revamp football.. If people want a bloodbath and people are willing to die on field, I say we aid them in their quest and create an offical blood bowl.
May the most ruthless survive. Oh side note.. if any person survives a season of blood bowl, they are allowed to procreate once during the off season, seeing as they most likely wouldn't survive a second season.
That should thin out the population some.. + provide entertainment.
That is true...but we are the only species to use technology to evolve which is not an extension of the natural part of our race. Niw I'm not saying that we shouldn't use technology...i just think the"kill everything"attitude we as a species seem to have is not what darwin had in mind. Its natural selection...not technology selection. In 500 million years I doubt we will be a hybrid car/human/couch/mcdonalds creature and squirrels will have armour plating to protect them from becoming road kill.
No, humanity will probably have evolved into smaller grayish, large-headed bipeds who travel intergalactically to abduct lesser species and probe them anally. So, except for the travel part, not much difference.
No need. Nature will eventually catch up to our ability to thwart it and cull us down to a more manageable number. How many other species of plant and animals manage to survive before that happens (I'm not really worried about insects), is a different story.
who cares? I have it for 80 years or so (hopefully) and as long as my grandkids are ok... so that's about 150 years or so if they live to 80.
So as long as the world last for another 150, I will lose no sleep over it.
the post above proves my point. No thought or concern outside his own needs. So you would not think twice about going out and killing off the majority of the endangered species just as long as they lived for another 150 years?(not they will live that long anyway). What about your other future ancestors? Don't you want to see the beauty of the world? Or is this just a limited time offer thing? I'm far from a peta activist or tree hugger...but I do realize how important and beautiful this world is and I hate it when people are so single minded.
No, not kill all of them off, stick a few in a zoo that way we can breed them, that way future generations can see them to. J/k.
I realize the importance, even appreciate it.... but I also don't care that the do-do bird isn't around anymore...
As long as things go good FOR ME and through my grandchildren's lifetime.... I'm good with that. My future decendants are on their own to make the best out of the hand they're dealt, just like I have had to deal with what my ancestors left me. If they never see a buffalo because they are extinct by then.... it will be to them like the sabertooth tiger is for me...
Call it single-mindedness all you want, that's fine, because I agree with it... but your morals and values aren't mine. My ticket to Heaven or Hell is not based on whether or not my great-great grandkids have a polar bear being saved from extinction by me.
There are good people, there are bad people.
You can't lump everyone into a single category.
Hitler / Osama Bin Laden - I'd shoot on sight.
Mother Theresa / Gandhi / many many other people like them - I'd let them run the world.
